Nestled in the Grampians district, the Dunkeld Royal Mail Hotel Convention Centre was burnt down in October 2013. Lanskey partnered with design architects Crosier Scott and structural engineers, Wallbridge & Gilbert, to evaluate the re-build options.
Lanskey’s trade sourcing policy meant that local trades were utilised - making up a total of 90% of all sub-contractors.
This building included a full commercial kitchen fit out with cool room and main function room as well as the necessary amenities.
Throughout construction, trade & operation continued for the neighbouring fully operable hotel accommodation and main restaurant, which Lanskey ensured had no disruptions.
Local flora & fauna surrounding the building was maintained and even complimented with specially milled yellow box boards.
I write to express our thanks and satisfaction to Lanskey Constructions following the completion of the Royal Mail Hotel Conference Centre re-build in Dunkeld earlier this year.
After the original building was destroyed by fire in October 2013, Crosier Scott Architects were engaged by Lend Lease with a brief to refine the design of the original building with a more contemporary appearance and to better take advantage of the views toward Mt Sturgeon in the southern Grampians. Lanskey Constructions were engaged by Lend Lease for the building works and worked co-operatively with us to successfully achieve the desired outcome through good communication and construction solutions, especially for the intricate building angles and forms that were so critical to the overall aesthetic.
We appreciate all the passion, commitment and hard work from the team at Lanskeys in helping to achieve what has resulted in a very successful project for all parties involved and we would not hesitate in recommending their services for similar works in the future.
