The contract began as a fixed lump sum becoming a Design & Construct project with 2 major & 2 mini major refurbishments of the main public areas, food court and both external entrances. Lanskey completed all works at night, after completion of store trading, to ensure that there was no disruption to any tenants or centre management.
The job involved full new furnishings where attention to detail was paramount to guarantee that the themed “free” interiors were consistent throughout the shopping centre. In keeping with Lanskeys philosophy when working in regional areas most artwork was sourced from local artists, and over 90% of all trades were locally based.
Bendigo Marketplace had strict floor loading restrictions which presented a challenge for the utilisation of access equipment and cranage. Lanskey overcame these limitations through the design of engineered pathways and use of specialised equipment.
After the initial contract works had been completed, Lanskey were asked to continue the works in additional areas of this centre. A testament to the teams ability & relationship with the client.
