Strategic Partnerships

Paul Lanskey is well recognised for his pioneering work in developing and maintaining long term strategic partnerships which benefit the client as much as the construction company. Paul's work in this area is featured by Tony Lendrum in his book Strategic Partnering Handbook: The Practitioners’ Guide to Partnerships and Alliances.
Lanskey Constructions now have successful partnering agreements in operation with several high profile clients around Australia.

Case Study - BP Australia and Lanskey Constructions

Over the last six years, the company has developed an extremely successful relationship with BP Australia whereby projects are implemented under a partnering arrangement, rather than the more traditional methods of tendering and negotiating contracts. The continuing success of this approach is evidenced by the project results, relationship strength and awards generated thus far.

Under this arrangement both parties work together to achieve the most effective outcomes in several key areas. Key elements in this process are the development of an open approach, free sharing of information, common objectives and the effective management of project risk. Costs are reimbursed on an actual basis being monitored and controlled against a clearly defined scope and approved budget. The margin is predetermined, with incentives for better than expected performance. Performance is measured against agreed KPI, such as HSSE, quality, cost and delivery.

"The BP / Lanskey partnership is proving to be one of the role models by which this objective can be achieved." - Stuart Moodie - BP Australia

Tony Lendrum in his book Strategic Partnering Handbook: The Practitioners’ Guide to Partnerships and Alliances uses Paul Lanskey’s work developing partnering arrangements for Lanskey Constructions as an example of successful business partnerships.
